NCP Secretariat meeting ends, Standing Committee to meet on May 7

Kathmandu, May 2  : The ruling Nepal Communist Party Secretariat meeting concluded this evening with a decision to hold the standing committee meeting on coming May 7, Thursday.

The meeting held at the Prime Minister's official residence in Baluwatar also agreed to hold the central secretariat meeting on Wednesday. It also decided to bring party Vice-president Bamdev Gautam to the House of Representatives in the appropriate time, according to party spokesperson Narayan Kaji Shrestha.

Talking to reporters following the meeting, Shrestha said Prime Minister and Party Chair KP Sharma Oli and another Chair Pushpa Kamal Dahal 'Prachanda' took to self-criticism over the shortcomings made by the government and the party, and pledged to not indulge in any activity that could bring division in the party.

Accordingly, directives shall be issued to other party leaders and cadres to follow suit. The meeting reviewed the issues raised in relation to the party and government and decided to work to further consolidate the party and make the government more effective.

The party will also support the measures taken by the government to save the country and people from COVID-19 pandemic.
