COVID-19: 213 new cases spotted; 102 discharged from hospitals
Kathmandu, June 7 (RSS):
With successful treatment, a total of 102 individuals including two women were discharged from different hospitals in the last 24 hours as they tested negative for coronavirus. So far 467 persons have won the battle against coronavirus in the country, officials said.
Earlier on Saturday, 32 were discharged from the hospitals while the number of getting discharged persons was 43 on Friday.
At a regular press briefing today, Spokesperson of the Ministry of Health and Population Dr Bikas Devkota said that 12 individuals of Jhapa district were discharged from BP Koirala Institute of Health Sciences while 43 others of Bara and one of Mahottari also returned home, thanks to successful treatment.
Similarly, 27 individuals of Rupandehi and Kapilvastu receiving treatment in Butwal Corona Hospital were also discharged while 10 individuals from Corona Special Hospital, Dang, returned home.
The Ministry also said that 18 persons from Gaur in Rautahat district also won the battle against the coronavirus.
Spokesperson Dr Devkota shared that 213 more people including four women tested positive for the coronavirus in the past 24 hours as per the tests carried out in different labs across the country.
With this, the total number of infected in the country reached 3,448 including 236 women.
The Ministry said that the infected individuals were spotted in 71 districts across the country.
Spokesperson Dr Devkota stated that a total of 96,205 people were tested through PRC methods while 145,049 through the RDT methods.
Currently, there are 170,732 individuals under quarantine facilities in all seven states, he added.
Meanwhile, Dr Jageshwor Gautam has been named as the new Spokesperson of the Ministry of Health and Population. Dr Gautam would share the information on coronavirus from Monday.
