One more dies of COVID-19, More than 5,000 infected

Kathmandu, June 12 :  One more COVID-19 death has been reported in the today, taking the number of those dying of the deadly infection to 16 in the country.    

In a routine press conference organized by the Ministry of Health and Population, Spokesperson Dr Jageshwor Gautam informed that a 57-year-old man from Malarani Rural Municipality-4 of Arghakhanchi district died of the coronavirus in course of the treatment.    


The man was kept in a quarantine facility set up in a local school in his village after he arrived in Nepal from Maharashtra State of India 12 days ago.

While undergoing treatment, he developed respiratory problems and was thus admitted to Lumbini Hospital in Butwal.    


He perished nearby Kondra River in his locality while returning home from the hospital, shared Dr Gautam, adding that with this death the number of COVID-19 causality has reached 16 in Nepal.    


He was tested positive for COVID-19 conducted following his demise, according to Dr Gautam.    

As per the latest statistic unveiled by the Ministry, altogether 5,062 COVID-19 cases have been reported in Nepal till date.
