Lebanon’s COVID-19 infections rise to 1,603

 BEIRUT, June 22 (Xinhua) : Lebanon’s COVID-19 infections increased on Monday by 16 to 1,603 while the death toll remained unchanged at 32, the National News Agency reported.    

    
 Lebanon is expected to reopen its airport on July 1 in an attempt to attract tourists amid deteriorating economic and financial conditions.    


    
 Lebanese Health Minister Hamad Hassan said that his ministry, in cooperation with the tourism and information ministries, will launch awareness campaigns in hotels and travel agencies aimed at guiding tourists to take proper precautionary measures.    

    
 Lebanon has been fighting against COVID-19 since Feb. 21.    


    
 The country has received several donations from different countries for the fight against COVID-19.    

    
The latest foreign support received by Lebanon for the fight against the pandemic was from China earlier in June, which offered 17,500 masks, 1,500 protective gears, 1,320 goggles and 1,000 shoes covers to Lebanese public hospitals.
