COVID-19: Friday records highest single day cases

Kathmandu, July 3 (RSS): The country witnessed 740 new cases of coronavirus infection in the past 24 hours—the highest single day spike so far.

            The Ministry of Health and Population’s Spokesperson Dr Jageshwor Gautam said that the records were collected from 23 different laboratories across the country.

            With this, the number of infected ones reached 15,259 in the country. 

            According to Gautam, a total of 6,143 individuals won the battle against the virus and returned home after complete recovery including 823 in the past 24 hours.

            Meanwhile, an octogenarian died of coronavirus infection in a hospital in the capital city.

            The man from Baneshwor, Kathmandu was also receiving treatment of heart ailment at a private hospital, the Ministry said.

            As per the information shared by the Ministry, Palpa, Sarlahi, Rautahat, Dang, Dailekh, Kailali, Kapilvastu and Mahottari districts have more than 500 each coronavirus infected individuals.
