Country sees 525 new infection cases including 127 in Kathmandu

    Kathmandu, Aug 13 (RSS):   Five hundred twenty five new infection cases including 127 in the Kathmandu Valley have been added in the past 24 hours, taking the caseload to 24,957. Four deaths from the infection have been confirmed today. With this, the death toll has reached 95.    


The new infection cases were from 9,859 PCR tests carried out at various laboratories across the country. Likewise, 109 infected people have been free of the infection in the last 24 hours, said Dr Jageshwor Gautam, Spokesperson for the Ministry of Health and Population, at a regular press conference on Thursday.    


The total number of infected people who have got over the virus has reached 16,837.    


The new cases in the Kathmandu Valley included 111 in Kathmandu district, 11 in Lalitpur and five in Bhaktapur.    


The people who died from the virus in 24 hours were from Mahottari, Dhanusha, Achham and Morang districts. Of the dead, a 45-year-old man of Matihani municipality-6 in Mahottari district died at Ram Janaki Hospital on August 9. He was suffering from tuberculosis and diabetes.   

 
Likewise, an 85-year-old woman of Mithila municipality-7 in Dhanusha died at the B.P. Koirala Institute of Health Sciences in Dharan on August 13. Also, an 18-year-old youth of Ramaroshan rural municipality-5 in Achham district died at Patan Hospital on August 13.    


A 57-year-old man of Biratnagar Metropolitan City-3 in Morang district died at Koshi Hospital in Biratnagar on August 13. He was a patient of blood pressure and diabetes.
