743 new cases of COVID-19 registered today

Kathmandu, Aug 24 (RSS):  A total of 743 new cases of COVID-19 were recorded in the country on Monday. In a regular press briefing, Spokesperson at the Ministry of Health and Population, Dr Jageshwar Gautam, shared that these cases were identified while conducting PCR test on 10,234 persons at different laboratories across the country.   Of them, 246 are female while 497 are male. With this, the national tally of COVID-19 jumps to 32,678 today.

Meanwhile, 175 have returned home after complete health recovery today.  It is shared that a total of 18,806 people have returned home so after getting recovery till today.  The ratio of recovery is 58 per cent in the country of late.  According to the Ministry, 138 are undergoing treatment in ICU while 15 with ventilator support.  

Dr Gautam said that there are 13,715 are active cases with 9,154 in different isolation centres and 4,562 are in home isolation across the country.

Similarly, 224 new cases were registered today in Kathmandu valley alone. Of them, 177 are from Kathmandu, 33 from Lalitpur and 14 from Bhaktapur. 

Dr Gautam further added that seven districts have over 500 active Corona cases.  These districts are Morang, Parsa, Mahotttari, Rautahat, Sarlahi, Bara and Kathmandu. 

However, Mustang and Humla districts have no single case of corona virus.
