Tourist dies of altitude sickness
Gorkha, 30 sep . A foreign tourist has died of high altitude sickness in the course of a mountaineering expedition to the Manaslu mountain in the Chumunubri rural municipality of Samagaon-1. The incident took place on Saturday.
Rita Doneta Bladya, 50, a Polish citizen, died of high altitude sickness in the third camp of the mountain, according to Deputy Superintendent of Police Mitra Bandhu Sharma. She had been taken down after falling sick, but passed away at Camp III.
Meanwhile, bad weather is hampering efforts to bring her body further down, police said. The incident site is a three-day walk from the Samagon police post in northern Gorkha.
