‘Women’s role important to boost tourism’

Chipledhunga, Jan 8 (RSS): Gandaki State Chief of Nepal Tourism Board, Kashiraj Bhandari, has said women’s participation in tourism needs to be augmented because women have effective managerial role.

 At a programme organized by Women Tourism Entrepreneurs’ Forum here Wednesday, Bhandari argued if the managerial skills of women are utilized in tourism business, it helps prop up tourism industry.    
    
On the occasion, Chairman of Pokhara Tourism Council, Chiranjivi Pokhrel, also lauded the role women played for the promotion of tourism. In the two-day training programme, lead trainer Hari Situala catered knowledge on women competence and skills development.    
    
Forum Chairwoman Jamuna Parajuli informed that the programme was organized to enhance capacity of women to make them further professional. Women’s entrepreneurs could help thrive economic activities and tourism development, she added.    
    
A total of 70 women tourism entrepreneurs have participated in the training.
